Image for the poem morrow

morrow

cut the morrow
she bleeds sorrow
listless day grieves for those she must keep after
jilted bones of another who went to the grave too early

the body deprived of the soul is empty
copper pennies shine the light of the deceased
no longer with us

I say my penance to the ferryman
another lost soul crossed over, to the other side of grief
may our souls find peace friends

the grave smiles
its wards quietly tucked in
not a whisper is heard

cult fiction in the afterlife
here deadmen tell no tales
death the great equalizer

we are one in our humility
it speaks our truths
no bravado, no cowardice

we will face what we must
ashes to ashes, dust to dust
