When Jesus Gave the Devils Free Speech

Better than sinners  
hiding behind a fig leaf
 
of socially acceptable  
filtered and censored beliefs  
 
are the devils  
 who get a voice  
 
Worse than unspoken love  
...that devil you don’t know  
 
mute and yet active  
destroying the show  
 
Silence just covers  
the enemy’s blows  
 
Even Jesus  
let the tongue free  
of devils warring with him  
 
asked them their name
before silencing them to shame
 
 
Because he knew  
revealing the damage  
of darkness is truth  
 
and it’s how we let  
the captives go free
