The shadows engulfs the light
The darkness overcomes the light
lower me then in to the frost
of my winter grave
with my soul without answers
I come from a dark place
where a child born dead
in the lacerating silence
of the indifference
and the guilty horror
of a blind humanity
that assassinates a planet
The shadows engulfs the light
because there is no mercy
in who fathered the torment
to this eternal struggle
between light and matter
between good and evil
between love and hate
in the absurdity
of challenging
a wonderful "Creation"
by demonic temptation
The darkness overcomes the light
is not a question of balance
of Yin and Yang, as they say
a picturesque theory
which proves nothing
only its precariousness
in the universe of chaos
and devastation
where everything deflagrate
in the last glow
of a dying star
plunging into a black hole
The shadows engulfs the light
in this "birth"
"copulate" and "dying"
prisoner of the body
of desire and pain
in a pathetic effort
of this dragging
in survival
in the mediocre ignorance
oppressive claustrophobia
that suffocates us
Abandon all hope:
"there is more darkness than light
in the universe!"
The darkness overcomes the light
and the clock is ticking
I forgot the past
not knowing about the future
only few moments remains
for happiness
and when I cross your sweet door
I lose myself
in the deep space
of your dark eyes
only then,
tears and despair
seem to be forgotten

The fight
between light and shadow
matter and energy
good and evil
life and death ...
I often think on this poetic aspect of the universe.
I believe that in this struggle lies the key to understanding the reason for existence.
Not for nothing is called enlightenment, isn't it?
It was a subject made for me.
It was nice to participate. It was nice to write about.

This reminds me of something

This envokes one image in my mind. Last year I actually went on a trip to Rome and we visited St Peters basilica. I was walking around and what appeared in front of me, which I only noticed because a massive shaft of light came down from a window was the statue of Michaelangelo's Pieta. The silence was eerie. And I remember looking at it thinking of all the things the light could have chosen, it chose to illuminate this masterpiece. It was so beautiful, I was captivated by every curve of the illuminated stone. It had such a profound effect on me, I spent the next two days writing about it, and I have a little statue of it by my bed to remind me of the inspiration of something so awe inspiring coming out of the darkness. Nice job of reminding me of this.

I am originally from Milan. But I know a lot about Rome and its art works. It's a city I love. Even if people's behavior with tourists, is sometimes inappropriate and pisses me off. I hope that they treated you well, so I do not have fell too ashamed about my compatriots.
The "Pietà" of Rome is a powerful work. Made by one of the most powerful artists. It is strategically located just to play with light and shadow. It's a work that has inspired much other Artisit over the centuries. It is the source from which draws the Western funerary art.
The fact that you stayed biased in the light and the dark of the "Pietà", demonstrates your bold sensibility. It is something, as you already figured, I really appreciate about you.
Thanks a lot for the comment. ;)

I usually use this system with the light, without success.
I will follow your advice and I'll try it with darkness.
But I am fascinated by the darkness, I'm afraid.
I'm glad to know you and I continue to turn on the same peninsula.
Waiting for our turn ;)

Sometimes too much of light turns one blind(the head lights of a car)and vice-versa(yang and yin concept).
Made my brain blush:).

Reading the comment of a brilliant and intelligent girl like you.
I have to assume then, that you have found my lines an interesting read? I hope so, at least an infinitesimal part of what I find enjoyable to read your poetry.
As you know you're on my list of favorite... ;)

So morbid this is! A truley beautiful piece of art, the ever over powering might of the shadowed and faceless. Brilliant

You are very generous with your comment.
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Since childhood I have been afraid of the dark, and longed for the light.
But I have always been attracted by the darkness. Irreparably.
I love life, however, are obsessed with death.
I try to maintain balance.
But it is difficult in a world of chaos.
