I Miss You
There's a feeling
Like wind rippling through the long grass
The vibrancy touching me
And for a moment
My heart quivers
The wending of wind through the leaves
Boughs swaying
A hushed memory of your voice
In the sighing
And sometimes
Thoughts that come
Seem out of focus
Sunlit bright
Like old polaroids
Laid in Attic boxes
As if with pictures we could capture
All the moments of our life
And hold them
But old pictures never seem to mean as much
Save perhaps a few
I look
And I can almost see you there
Curled up
In your favorite chair
And sometimes
When a song plays on the radio
A mood washes over me
Colored by you
And if part of living
Is wanting
I wonder
Is wanting
Any more than what's missing
And
I miss you
Like wind rippling through the long grass
The vibrancy touching me
And for a moment
My heart quivers
The wending of wind through the leaves
Boughs swaying
A hushed memory of your voice
In the sighing
And sometimes
Thoughts that come
Seem out of focus
Sunlit bright
Like old polaroids
Laid in Attic boxes
As if with pictures we could capture
All the moments of our life
And hold them
But old pictures never seem to mean as much
Save perhaps a few
I look
And I can almost see you there
Curled up
In your favorite chair
And sometimes
When a song plays on the radio
A mood washes over me
Colored by you
And if part of living
Is wanting
I wonder
Is wanting
Any more than what's missing
And
I miss you
