The Sleepless Man

I'm just killing time
With my nose in yet another book
Hoping that at some point in the night
I'll be able to sleep

I've read so many books
As night after night passes by
Feeling lucky when I get
A short nap

When the dawn lights up the sky
I wonder just how exhausted
A man can get
Before he falls into a coma

And it becomes apparent
That it must be a little more than the night before
Because here I stand
The sleepless man
