Gordian Knot

Once, when life
 was young
The world full of promise
Strong soul ties wrapped
in a Gordian knot 
United, untouchable
Forever, in thought 


Once a beautiful mind
has now become warped, twisted
and unmanageable 
An undying hope
 to reach remnants of a familiar love 
 has dissolved 


Hatred,  fester's  wounds torn
into your own heart 
Self inflicted dark psychopathy 
reeks of poison spreading 
into the realm
of the deranged 

 Turning away,
a magnetic draw 
pulls, to soak
in memories so fine 
their golden sheen distracts 
from reality 

Heavy blinders
don't fit 
Pressing on
 into the space where desperation
lives 

Fear becomes
 a dear friend 
politely holding open the door  
before shutting never
to be opened again.
