The Sleepless Waiting
Sometimes tired as hell just isn't tired enough
When sleep won't come no matter what
And the night hours creep by so slow
You find too many hours to just think
Think about things that you try to hide from
And the hours seem to slow down even more
There's no reprieve inside a dream
Some cotton candy happiness
Just cold reality as dark as the sky outside the window
So you pace
And you think
And sometimes you cry out loud
And you sit
And think some more
And silently weep
Waiting is worse than the hurting
That waits in the wings to dance
Dance you down into eternity
When sleep won't come no matter what
And the night hours creep by so slow
You find too many hours to just think
Think about things that you try to hide from
And the hours seem to slow down even more
There's no reprieve inside a dream
Some cotton candy happiness
Just cold reality as dark as the sky outside the window
So you pace
And you think
And sometimes you cry out loud
And you sit
And think some more
And silently weep
Waiting is worse than the hurting
That waits in the wings to dance
Dance you down into eternity
