theology of entropy
the silence between
seconds
a fly buzzing in my
ear
the silken lethargy of
waiting
waiting for concrete
smiles on the faces
of dead cherubem
waiting for lies to
flee pretend mouths
like swarms of
angry hornets
waiting for salvation
in the poison words
of a new God
it is hard to face
the dawn with
centuries chasing
you down
and very little left
behind you
stop
waiting
seconds
a fly buzzing in my
ear
the silken lethargy of
waiting
waiting for concrete
smiles on the faces
of dead cherubem
waiting for lies to
flee pretend mouths
like swarms of
angry hornets
waiting for salvation
in the poison words
of a new God
it is hard to face
the dawn with
centuries chasing
you down
and very little left
behind you
stop
waiting

Dear BK,
“stop waiting” quite right. Your poem prompts me to remember I’m in charge of my own outcome and not to give over to outside influences. Awesome reminder. Thanks! H🌷

People are always waiting for a new moment; however, when it arrives they never enjoy it for waiting on the next!
Excellent write, Kitts. Very apropos in many ways.

It's a struggle sometimes, to always stay in the present. Looking back creates its own stumbling blocks, but the anxiety that can be created from always living partway in the future can be pretty damaging. Learning to ride each wave in life instead of always fighting it helps in learning to be in the moment.
An excellent and timely write.
