theology of entropy

the silence between
seconds

a fly buzzing in my
ear

the silken lethargy of
waiting

waiting for concrete
smiles on the faces
of dead cherubem

waiting for lies to
flee pretend mouths
like swarms of
angry hornets

waiting for salvation
in the poison words
of a new God

it is hard to face
the dawn with
centuries chasing
you down

and very little left
behind you

stop
waiting
