Monsters
She told me she was a good girl
Said she was really glad to see me
Said she knew who I was
I could feel her heart beating
She told me about growing up
That she really liked my smile
Then she held my hand tightly
And I knew all the while...
The monsters hiding inside of me
I've lived long enough to see
I've never had control of them
They've never let me free
I've always been afraid I'll find
And most of you will agree
When I look into the mirror
The only monster I see is me
I held her body tight
She began to squeal and pout
I wanted to make her feel better
But the monsters won't let her out
She's not the first to disappear
Soon a new one will come along
One victim after another
And I've done nothing wrong.
Said she was really glad to see me
Said she knew who I was
I could feel her heart beating
She told me about growing up
That she really liked my smile
Then she held my hand tightly
And I knew all the while...
The monsters hiding inside of me
I've lived long enough to see
I've never had control of them
They've never let me free
I've always been afraid I'll find
And most of you will agree
When I look into the mirror
The only monster I see is me
I held her body tight
She began to squeal and pout
I wanted to make her feel better
But the monsters won't let her out
She's not the first to disappear
Soon a new one will come along
One victim after another
And I've done nothing wrong.
