This poem reminds me of 'The Idiot' by Dostoevsky in two ways: Firstly, one of the underlying themes begs the question, 'Can innocence survive in a cruel world'? And, secondly, there's a paragraph halfway through the book in which the protagonist has to choose which course of action he will take. This is so reflective of humankind whenever they're faced with a choice in thier own personal lives. Of course, the protagonist chose unwisely, which resulted in his eventual demise. Be that as it may be, innocense, as well as love, I believe, can and does survive a contrasting world, and it does so through the choices we make.

Letting go, non-judgement, and so many other actions and/or controlled thoughts are all of Love; and they make the world go round.

Wonderful and reflective poem, Kitts. Made me put my thinking cap on. Any poem that reminds me of a brilliant novel is tops in my book.

Damn, that dropped hard like a bomb of truth. It really is unbelievable the times we are living in, and that many of us are witness to it. Perhaps in our old age, we'll pass down the wisdom to our grandchildren so that they make better choices and remain vigilant of those who stand on the side of greed and power.
