kotoba ga tarinai
oto matawa jikan

思い出が衰える
骨から落ちる
言葉が足りない
音または時間
すべて間違っている

The last one is for 菜摘(Natsumi) who I have been sharing poetry with on Shimagurashi.
In the last poem, another translation for Natsumi is "vegetable picking" and "inspiration" more directly translated here is just "intake flow."

I absolutely LOVE the last one. It contains the essence of Zen. Also reminds me of one of my favortie Basho's:

I feel there an element missing in translation. You know, it's like going to the movies and seeing the whole movie, but when you purchase the DVD there is this part missing that you only get to see in the movies. Like that.

I love Basho's work!
I really like that one too. I also really like:
From time to time
The clouds give rest
To the moon beholders...
and:
Yes, spring has come
This morning a nameless hill
Is shrouded in mist.
I remember feeling really conflicted watching 'The Lord of the Rings" on dvd for the first time. It served to 噛み殺す(kamikorosu), to stifle a smile.
I really like that word because 'kami' can mean 'God' and 'korosu' means 'to kill.'

I can't describe or say exactly what i like about this haiku. It sparks so many images in my head and although they're very different and random, they fit so perfectly together.
