being questioned as a poet

i been struggling with this
it seems when I do post my poems I get asked what kind of poet am i
i honestly do not know I'm still figuring out who I am
I don't know a lot of poets or writers

my favorite writer and poet is Edgar Allen Poe
even with that, I questioned how much of a fan I am
honestly haven't read everything that he wrote
what I have read I loved

I don't know if this is weird
he's the first poet I ever head of
the reason why I love poetry in the first place
I hope to someday be great as he was

sometimes I get questioned on my type of writings I make
that I shouldn't write about relationships
I'm sorry but it's real for me
I'm more drawn to things I have actually experienced

I love writing
I just don't want to be stuck in a box
I want to be free to write what I want
not by what someone thinks I should write about

I know I have a long way to go
I do believe that I will become a great writer
someone who explores and evolves
to be something great
