Far Away (Log Entry)
far away from Earth we went
to what seemed a heaven sent
warm and lush green paradise
a world without the curse of ice
no inclination so each day
was just as long as yesterday...
tomorrow promised equal light
for just as long as every night
with stars we knew when on the Earth
except the one that gave us birth
here shining in the sky at night
so far away yet very bright...
by a lake where mountains dipped
in water pure for all to sip
from a stream with just a hint
of shimmer sparkling in each glint...
electricity from the sun
free for all and everyone
electricity for our ship
to power the returning trip
to what seemed a heaven sent
warm and lush green paradise
a world without the curse of ice
no inclination so each day
was just as long as yesterday...
tomorrow promised equal light
for just as long as every night
with stars we knew when on the Earth
except the one that gave us birth
here shining in the sky at night
so far away yet very bright...
by a lake where mountains dipped
in water pure for all to sip
from a stream with just a hint
of shimmer sparkling in each glint...
electricity from the sun
free for all and everyone
electricity for our ship
to power the returning trip
