Depression- poem 5 of 10 in 'Letters of Affliction'
Ghost of my former self.
A life lost in abyss.
So inadequate,
I speak only of the past.
Apathy emanated,
The weight of an unborn soul.
Loss of something not found,
Blinded me to grace.
Paralyzed emotions,
Embedded in a loathing carcass.
Anesthetized to existence.
Mind and spirit slumbered.
Spirt burdened by absence.
Devoid of yearning.
Callously stiff,
I am relinquished to question.
Why me?
When will it end?
How do I move on?
What is next?
