A Nice Leather Case... Stillborn
Time is what a clock reads
Or do we read the clock
Just a fantasy novel of infinite pages turning in the breeze like a leaf fluttering to the ground
That tick tock sound of one hand chasing the other
Our mother of memoirs fade when their made with haste
And still I don't know the time
A series of consecutive lives lived
What is it they amount too I really couldn't tell you
A penny for your thoughts
You see time can be bought
Things erode as nature reclaims
Humanity's aim doesn't seem to have the nurture of nature in mind
No wonder she can be unkind
What a design of refined perfection
All with this exquisite collection of memoirs stored away in a nice leather case
To quietly page through at your convenience
Do you recognize the characters
We the inheritors to pilot this dermal vessel
It's stressful man
Don't waste a moment more considering my position in the everlasting
As I wish to be fasting in the present
But a chronological halter has me frothing at the bit
Do I really need to fit
What if you were free to do what you would
Watch this life pass before your eyes
Would you still say you've done what you should
What if I told you what's inside never dies
We synchronize to perpetually exist
And as the seconds tick by
Please take a moment
And whisper that departing wish
In time we become one with the All
No further use for that piece on the wall
When I've done and tried everything I could
To become the clock where time just stood
