Fault
Do not fault me
If I contemplate our stars
And scry the surface of the waters
For answers to who we are
Do not fault me
If I feel with a flame that's too strong
But the road has been severe
The search has been too long
Do not fault me
My voice amorous and sure
Arising from honorable intentions
And a wellspring that is pure
Do not fault me
If my eyes look beyond today
The Fates seem to be at work
In their curious and particular way
Do not fault me
If I love too deeply and burn my fires bright
Comfort and consolation
In the darkness of your night
Do not fault me
My pangs and my desire
Love, devotion and surrender
That time shall not expire.
If I contemplate our stars
And scry the surface of the waters
For answers to who we are
Do not fault me
If I feel with a flame that's too strong
But the road has been severe
The search has been too long
Do not fault me
My voice amorous and sure
Arising from honorable intentions
And a wellspring that is pure
Do not fault me
If my eyes look beyond today
The Fates seem to be at work
In their curious and particular way
Do not fault me
If I love too deeply and burn my fires bright
Comfort and consolation
In the darkness of your night
Do not fault me
My pangs and my desire
Love, devotion and surrender
That time shall not expire.
