Night After

Blood in the tub
Binding and strangling
Of arteries
Not enough

Uncle just dead a week
You took your life in front of me
I knew you couldn't live without him
But that night...

We were dancing
Funeral done
Drinking
Plastered beyond imagining

We cried about Christopher
My brother
Dead and gone
And when I was asleep.....

I miss your laugh
I hate that memory
Of you
Lifeless
White
Long gone

As I cried and called
Tied your wrists
Pounded your chest
So lifeless
But I still thought
The cold would drift

You always said you would
But I never believed.
