Insects are interesting
impulsive little buggers
Surviving on basic instincts
Devoid of pesky emotions
munch, multiply, move
Simple
take The Cock-Roach for example
Suspicious Skitter Scatter
Hissing hissyfits
Avoiding certain death with
Antennae feeling out fate
Waiting for the other shoe to drop
Knowing how to hide
How to stay concealed
A Home Invader
if there ever was
One is too many
a 1,000 is
never enough
Then there’s the june-bug
Crawl when it can fly
And more often than not
Helpless on its back
Twitching like a nervous
breakdown; an addict
in withdrawal; an alcoholic
with the shakes
You feel sorry for it
A victim mentality
refusing to step on it
Out of pity
What a segment pair
A real Rick & Morty dynamic
Oh geeze…

Lawd! the alliteration and assonance of those lines is divine! This was an interesting and unique perspective on insectile critters. Although I strangely feel it's metaphoric somehow.

Bravo! You picked up what I was laying down. There is a metaphoric message underneath: both The Cock-Roach and the june-bug represent differing aspects of the addicts persona.
