A Fisherman Plays Out His Line
A bird on a wire
A dog on a chain
The world on a string
She had me wrapped around her finger,
But to her I didn't mean a thing
The buzz of a bumble
The sniff of a flower
The sting of a bee
She had me wrapped around her finger
The sound of birdsong coming from a tree
We were two of a kind
But I had to stray
I angered the queen
And with a royal flush
It all went away
A fisherman plays out his line
On the most sunny day
He uses anything he can for bait
As long as she can't get away
But the lines become tangled
She had me wrapped around her finger
Now she's the one that got away
To say I'm disappointed and broken hearted,
It's all quite cliche'
