airbnbeforedawnwefeast

the pendulum swing of your thoughts
interrupted
by the silence of a hollow gaze
blown away in the wind
and how disheartening
to feel
a diamond may be forever
but forever is only as long
as
the last breath you
inhale,
as the diaphragm struggles to persevere
exhale,
as such inordinate scintillation transmutes
internally;
formerly
a golden glory,
now a graveyard for decaying ambition
surrounded by neon lights
signaling cue for the audience to applaud;
what a harrowing call for
the summoning of
false deities,
as we're left to discern our own eulogies
when i die, gift my body to the sun
not
laid to rest
nor
laid to rot
when such caustic elements of the soil
beneath us
whispered secrets of sulphuric acid
