Chipped Away
I'm left with pieces—
Broken shards and tattered shreds of skin.
Hands clutching what's left of an empty battlefield.
All my foes have become ghosts, and my allies stand frozen behind the glass.
Standing here, I see that my war is an encased display.
I stand here feeling naked and afraid,
Alone with no armor or weapon.
All of my valiant mottos have failed me,
And my bravado has run scared into the night.
There's nothing left here for me...
I'm only half the woman I started to be.
