Pathways of The Heart
Life is so many different things and many different paths
Yet through all the wanderings I can clearly see at last
It was always you
The mystic song of my heart's sea
No matter the distance in time or miles
Who always beckoned me
Headstrong youth and older pride
Never erased the mark
Lost in all life's goings on
You made upon my heart
If only life could somehow return
To former foolish choices
Or grant that paths cross once more
To hear again your voice
I wish I knew how to put into words
The feelings my heart has carried
In my wanderings
For all that was
And all I have imagined
For I have missed you so
Who still touch my soul
Whenever I'm alone
I miss you
In the quiet moments
With whispered memories
When all else fades except the truth
Of time not shared with you
And the longing for your touch
Why does my heart still need you so
Because you were everything
(And how could I not see)
And today's a quiet day
Alone
And I miss you
Still
Yet through all the wanderings I can clearly see at last
It was always you
The mystic song of my heart's sea
No matter the distance in time or miles
Who always beckoned me
Headstrong youth and older pride
Never erased the mark
Lost in all life's goings on
You made upon my heart
If only life could somehow return
To former foolish choices
Or grant that paths cross once more
To hear again your voice
I wish I knew how to put into words
The feelings my heart has carried
In my wanderings
For all that was
And all I have imagined
For I have missed you so
Who still touch my soul
Whenever I'm alone
I miss you
In the quiet moments
With whispered memories
When all else fades except the truth
Of time not shared with you
And the longing for your touch
Why does my heart still need you so
Because you were everything
(And how could I not see)
And today's a quiet day
Alone
And I miss you
Still
