Carousels

His in a bar
Drowning his sorrows in his regrets,
She caught him cheating
And then she decides to leave him.

On his way to her house
Screaming her name all over town
On her porch, on his knees
His screaming out, his shouting "baby please, I'm on my knees"
She lets him in, he apologizes
He admits his a mess
And he needs help,
She lays his heard on her chest
And she forgives him one more time.

A few months down the line
His in a bar
drowning his sorrows in regrets
Round and round they go
I guess some people lives are just carousels

Till this one time she gets fed up
She decides two can play this game,
Then he finds out,
He freaks out
He couldn't stomach it.
Took his gun cocked it back
Went to her place and confronted her,

She said yes, two can play this game
After a few exchange of words
His mind goes blank
His rage drives him blind
Pulled out his gun
She tried to run,
She tried to hide
But at such close range there was no way he was going to miss,
Two shots, her scream goes silent
In a pool of blood she's dead.

A few years down the line
His out of jail,
His in a bar
Drowning his sorrows in his regrets,
Another person daughter's life is on the line.
Round and round he goes
I guess some people lives are just carousels.

Author's Note
I think somehow the scales of justice are not fair and they always seem to enable perpetrators and disable victims...
The cycle of violence still committed by ex offenders/ former prisoners.....

I saw this one story on the news the other day and it made me sick

Then I wrote this
