Image for the poem Jug

Jug

Poor soul in a jug,
Filled up to the brim;
An ornate display
Of life and love
For family and friends.

But subtract the substance
Or an audience
To serve or show or captivate,
Will sit useless on the sill to sour,
Until it all
evaporates.
