Home

There’s a lonely place I know
When I’m tired that’s where I go
But in the morning haze I find
That home is only in my mind.
There’s no comfort in this place
It’s just a cold, lonely embrace
But for the soul that always roams
It’s the closest thing that comes to home.

I want to go home, home at last
I want to lay down on green, green grass
I want to feel whole and warm inside.
But that home is only in my mind.

Theres lonely places where I could go
Filled with love for me to know
With hearts of love for me that show,
There’s a lot of places, they’re just not home.
They’re not meant for me to stay
They’re just reminders on the way
That, though I can not find my place,
There’s always room in a loving embrace.

I want to go home, but where is that?
I Want to feel free, free at last.
I want to feel like I’m where I belong,
But home is just a sad, sad song.

Home ain’t a place, home is a state
A feeling to which I can’t relate.
So hard I’ve tried, so long the drive
Just to arrive
in another lonesome state of mind.
I know it’s me, not them, I see
It’s a rambling soul inside of me.
Never at rest, never at home,
I may stay long but know I’m bound to roam.

There is no home, least not a place
That I can go to when I need some space.
I go outside and watch the sky
Until my loneliness starts to subside.

Home is those clouds, it’s in those stars
Not full of planes and trains and cars.
I know someday, I’ll drift away
I’ll leave this place and find that warm embrace.
I’ll be home, No more I’ll roam,
I’ll finally heal that old rambling bone,
I’ll be free, in a place I know
And loneliness will finally leave me alone.

I’ll be home. Home at last.
Layed to rest beneath the green, green grass.
I’ll be home. My soul at ease.
I found home, so please don’t cry for me.
