The quiet times in my mind
These images abound, unwind
What does one make of past-
histories, miseries I found-
voices beckonin’ to find...
The ‘architects of disgrace’
Sinful servants of an inhumane
space, a supposed superior race
I ache in my soul as scenes unfold
Darkened skin’s outcome “foretold”
When this ‘color-cause’ took hold...
N I wish one had words of wisdom
that could shatter loose those souls
sold on myths, why THEY are so great
nary a care all it spews is hate...
As the loudest moments search
somethin’ to grasp a breathe’s hope
I re-Chant a brilliant teacher, human
being, exercisin’ her loves’ scope
In honor of HER* I quote:
“We don’t need a colorblind society
We need a society that is no longer
blinded by color... “
