Author's Note

I remember civil rights protests, racie riots, governments attacking their own citizens. when I was a child. I thought that was my past. Why are we repeating repeating mistakes from the sixties? Are we suffering from cultural Alzheimer�s dementia? We�re supposed to be homo sapiens (wise man). Why don�t we act like it?

I think your Author's Note does raise a pondering question, and by the way, I appreciate the tenacity of your senryu

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist

Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist

Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew

Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me
