Never There (A Realization in 1st Period History)
Realization hits me as I add commentary to your conversation.
This is the way it always was between us.
You spoke to everyone--
I spoke to no one--
The only time you ever noticed me was when I spoke up.
Otherwise you never saw me.
We were dating, I should have been the only person you saw.
Now we're broken up and nothing has changed.
You are still the same, you never changed and never will change.
Whether w're together--
Or apart--
I was never there to you.
Invisible--
When you were with your friends--
Your family--
Or even strangers--
I was. . .
Never seen
Never spoken to
Never heard
Never there--
Just like it always was.
