The eyes that deceive
Bat two lashes
“Grin and bear it” says the eyes
Adjust your gaze, can you read them?
Hidden behind a smiley disguise...
The eyes that have had enough
Suppress the help that’s provided
Her eyes see lifelines tossed in desperation
She lets it swing to their surprise
The eyes that give up
Look just like your own
But take a closer look
Can you see the canyon below?
Reflected in her eyes of stone
