Healing Vaccine...
Words are the everyday tools of the poet.
They describe what we see in order
to paint a picture, in the minds eye
of the reader, of beauty that we observe.
We also make an attempt to convey
emotion associated with each event.
It was exciting, I was thrilled. I was
blown away, I was sad or heartbroken.
A child runs downstairs on Christmas
morning and sees a lit tree with the
spread of colorfully wrapped presents.
Does “excited, happy etc.” really do
justice to that special moment?
Think of your own experience, first
kiss, first car, first love, first child.
first family loss and the specter of Covid.
We can communicate feelings but
words aren’t sufficient to describe
emotions on the personal level.
So, as the current crisis continues
let’s all show our feelings for one another
rather than just depending on words
written on some page. True feelings
shared between people will have
a greater healing effect than any vaccine.
