Lucifer from heaven sent to Hell
He played the part very well
Where Hell came to be
The directions he forgot to see
There was no google maps to guide the way
There was no compass back in the day
So he found a place to rest and put others to the task
They sought to find direction from the shiny flask
They grew the the herbs and made the pills to help them see
Not knowing to whom others they would come to be
As they stood on the corners seeking others to point the way
Forgetting where they would go or what they did that day
Wondering if only for a moment Heaven would show
Still they didn't know the Hell they came to give
From all the life they couldn't live
They buried the knives and the guns
But still it all had been done
Heartaches filled the streets and Hell was complete.

your words here are so true of the world today - its unexplainable - every day there is missing children - abuse - murders and mass mahem all around us - I just sometimes wonder what happened to the world I grew up in - so much hate - so much turmoil - and so unfortunate we have here hell on earth - somehow I doubt it is complete though - almost but not quite - great poem - thanks for sharing - respectfully - ^v^

I often think the same thing myself what happened to the way it all use to be? I was asked a question many years ago "Do you believe that there is a heaven and a hell? " I thought on this for a long time as I am very spiritual but not religious so to speak. The only answer that came to play out in my head is this " I can only hope that there is a heaven , because I was living through my own hell, since then I have come to see the balance of what is considered to be good and evil or light and dark on both sides meaning just as one can describe hell as a place on earth so can heaven come to be found if your heart is looking in the right direction and it doesn't have to be good and evil or light and dark they all come to combine the various shades and colours of life that comes to live within and around us.
