Why?!
Why?
Why is it that my life is expendable?
Why is it ok that my blood be shed?
You took my life without a blink of an eye.
You took the power of your badge and made it a weapon.
You disgraced the uniform and your brothers that are here to protect and serve.
And where was my protection?
What service did you give me…?
With my last breath I cried out and begged you to stop.
But, you and those with you chose to take part and bear witness to another racial injustice.
You chose to perpetuate the continued divide in this country, with the cost of my life!
A life never yours to take… Who made you God?
You are not the law, judge, nor jury.
You are a tool used to enforce and keep order, instead you incite violence and dismay.
My death will not be in vain!
Remember my name, my face and know that you along with fear…
You incite Strength…
You incite Love…
You incite Unity in all of us to overcome these acts of racial disparity plaguing our nation.
Why you decided to keep your knee to my neck and take my life? ...
I will never know.
But…
I know that in my last breath and in my peace, you created a movement.
