You're calling out for me
When I know I must stay away
We can both wish it was different
But that will do us no good
Don't come looking for monsters
or invoke ghosts of the past
Don't try to find me in places we used to go
Because I won't be there
But in spite of how much I know I should stay away
I'd come find you, if I knew you were in danger
And all I would ask is

How lucky the person who can still count on you in a time of peril even when the daily relationship may not have been so healthy. Bittersweet, perhaps but for me a deep comfort somewhere knowing that someone cared enough to set aside their own level of comfort to help. Lovely write. H🌷
