Resistance
I can resist anything except resistance.
The bite of the rope.
The tightening of the knot.
The easing from uncomfort to comfort.
Pulling my body into place,
The stress position becomes tolerable
Like yoga, but enforced,
Unfamiliar becomes familiar becomes friendly.
Hello rope, my old friend.
We may not have spoken recently
But we always pick up
Where we left off.
Joints refuse, then relax.
Muscles tense, then tire.
All resists, then rejoices.
Endorphins move in.
This leads to a euphoria
Ask the Dervish, the tattooed Mauri
Endorphin enhanced euphoria.
I can resist everything but resistance.
The bite of the rope.
The tightening of the knot.
The easing from uncomfort to comfort.
Pulling my body into place,
The stress position becomes tolerable
Like yoga, but enforced,
Unfamiliar becomes familiar becomes friendly.
