In your pocket
Inside of me there used to be
A place where I could go and hide
Until you came along singing your sirens song
And opened the door with your key
Gently you took my heart from its nook
And placed it in your pocket
There it was still when you swallowed that bitter pill
And dropped you pants onto his floor
And when you picked them up you didn't give a fuck
That my heart had been forgotten
For too many seasons without rhyme or reason
My heart was on his floor
Then that day came and brought all the shame
And you remembered it in you pocket
So you dug down deep thru the trash heap
That had once been our life
You pulled my heart out and gave a shout
When you saw it beat with life
Oh what surprise by the look in your eyes
When you saw I was still there
So here we now sit us on the split
And wonder what to do
How do I heal this anger I feel
I want to be with you
A place where I could go and hide
Until you came along singing your sirens song
And opened the door with your key
Gently you took my heart from its nook
And placed it in your pocket
There it was still when you swallowed that bitter pill
And dropped you pants onto his floor
And when you picked them up you didn't give a fuck
That my heart had been forgotten
For too many seasons without rhyme or reason
My heart was on his floor
Then that day came and brought all the shame
And you remembered it in you pocket
So you dug down deep thru the trash heap
That had once been our life
You pulled my heart out and gave a shout
When you saw it beat with life
Oh what surprise by the look in your eyes
When you saw I was still there
So here we now sit us on the split
And wonder what to do
How do I heal this anger I feel
I want to be with you
