indigo pain
sun filter through tiny cracks in my darkness
entering my bones with its light
I shun the way
oscillating through the black
my fear revolve on a spindle of hope
you broke my fevered keen
in a moment of bittersweet
when I turn to look back
you sat there bare-chested and brave
never one to look away
you held my stare
with a solemn look
your long hair pulled back
your beautiful face clear to me
there would be no regrets
the brutal dawn awoke upon us
she claimed her cut
in dignities and pain
I reached to you then
in the brittle moment of surrender
you look away
