EXPERIENCE  IS WISDOM

Surprised by my age
at 32 you know wise
with wisdom, there comes pain
still, I’m pouring out liquor for those slain

Turn your backs on those who did wrong
slamming doors in they face it ain’t right
even grown men are lost without love
doesn’t matter what he does or has done

Take a second pay attention maybe you’ll see the pain in your son
ask him questions “how’s your day” it could be as small as a quick hug
We ain’t born this way to become a monster we’re made

Like a child that’s taught hate, why push us away
so you can try disguise shame, one day inside you realize, because real eyes, realize, what real lies is, and take blame

We play a game like madden, without the pads,
ankle monitors control us, tell us to stay focused,
focus on what’s important? Nah! getting passed being held back the focus of our importance
when they control us, like video game controllers,

Accept confinement, when I’m confined,
able to come find piece of mind,
every time I exit that cell, I leave peace and mind behind,
Upon release, they will keep a piece of mine,
I’m ok with that it’s my payment back,
time to come find my piece of mind,

They say your family is there at times,
that your down and need help,
mine’s scarce, the ones there,
kick me while I’m down and need help,

If you feel my arsenal, verbally being sent,
addressed words, is me cautiously holding back, rawness hides, in being well dressed,
context is missed, for being well spelled,

Hardly am I reaching hearts,
I’m partially hitting arteries,
since you live to see, What I see,
you can start to see, what really rips me apart,
you can finally admit your faults.
