Liễu Hạnh, Goddess
Liễu Hạnh, Goddess
Liễu Hạnh, Goddess of the Red River Delta people of Vietnam, had been banished to a chaste life in heaven. Every day was like every other day among the clouds with boredom her constant companion. She longed to feel a man cleave her butter unto the slick melt of madness consuming her. Unto this dream, she imparted sighs and whispers into her father the emperor’s ear to use the softness of her voice like a daughterly liquor of love to bring him into her plea.
And so upon a Gibbous moon, he leaned his will under her sway and sent her forthright downward. She had convinced her father who ran the show to send her back to earth where she was reborn with two sisters into a royal household whereupon a ripe age they harmonized in moon song by the pool of forever that reflected their desires and fortune.
When the gift of health became a threshold unto their fate they emerged from the palace on a mission to make maidens blush and gentlemen quake. Liễu Hạnh became the apex of their triangle to peak men into thrilled bedevilment. She and her two sisters were Dharma Goddesses made flesh, who rewarded good bachelors with tetradic trysts, but left cads with the ache to remember the bed shared once saris were shed.
With the gentleness of a misty brush of love, she offered the righteous bachelors a prophecy of marital bliss with three stars as their constellation of pleasure and free of karmic debt. And so in their arms, these men reveled like sages drunk on soma whose frolic in the perfumed garden in memory would be a gift both to them and their future but unbeknownst wives whose hallowed hallways felt their downpour of passion with the wonderment of women in the throes of love not tainted by the prospect of wood fallen into the river and drifted into the past.
But they came upon the unrighteous with the fury of love gone mad. With the art of erotic angels from the darkness of an eclipse never to brighten into sunshine they plowed unto the rakes whose unsuspecting loins thickened like a diamond-studded staff. And unto their heat, the three women added their luster so that the cinch of their ruby necklaces became tightened into a fire whose ignition would haunt their mortal souls for a lifelong tortuous tease.
These scoundrels got theirs too but only remember the foreplay which gnaws on them the rest of their lives. For memory would only serve the appetizer of their carnal delight. But the burst of these seedy men would elude their recollection like an itch that just gets worse with each scratch. And their moonstruck eyes would cast suspicion unto their naked wives to haunt their bedrooms with his ongoing float on another raft in a different river.
