sorrow weeps
follow me death down the darkened corridor
feast your eyes on my sorrow so blue in its melancholia
will you receive me now or for joy of pain will you leave me linger?
your devilish mind designs torture of fortuitous surprise
lying in wait to harvest a soul on the chosen day
the Gods themselves foretell our time of departure
not a moment too early, not a moment too late
oh, death where is your sting?
will you tarry on the field reaping others?
leaving me to languish in my filth
I pray privy to your secrets
will I be ready when you come to collect the debt I owe
----a life half lived my great crime
my sadness weeps inside me
my grief has already given up the ghost
will you still deny me?

This beautiful dark write bemoans an unmatched misery of life succumbing to evil/death. You have so much power in your submissions full of gut wrenching emotion. Wow!

I love this. It’s beautiful but also painfully sad. The waiting... sometimes it seems too much. But you also beautifully represent the subtle hesitation and desire to live. It is a wonderful representation of what it feels like to live with depression.

Your power lies in this despair and darkness. . .
i recall a time i was incrementally sooooo close to freeeing Your and then my own demons forced me coerced me grappled me with their rusty hooks away from You and our progress...........
but i still feel a positive power within You, my Beautiful Sister.........
wonderful spill of the struggle struggling within the dark

I enjoyed reading this motivating poem today. I'm really anxious and sad today. My dog had surgery to remove a cyst but the doctor thinks it's most likely cancer. She's 12 but still here. The lines I like the most from this poem are:
will you receive me now or for joy of pain will you leave me linger?
your devilish mind designs torture of fortuitous surprise
lying in wait to harvest a soul on the chosen day
the Gods themselves foretell our time of departure
not a moment too early, not a moment too late
oh, death where is your sting?
will you tarry on the field reaping others?
May I keep it?
will you receive me now or for joy of pain will you leave me linger?
your devilish mind designs torture of fortuitous surprise
lying in wait to harvest a soul on the chosen day
the Gods themselves foretell our time of departure
not a moment too early, not a moment too late
oh, death where is your sting?
will you tarry on the field reaping others?
May I keep it?
