When we think of celebrities, they are like modern-day, distant gods and goddesses. When we do get in contact with them, it is usually through a photo/video, or some article on the internet that claims to know the truth. But often 'regular people' don't actually know the truth, even when the words come out of the celebrity's mouth. There have been many moments in pop culture showing the dark side of celebrity gossip, and what implications hateful rumours can have on a celebrity's health. An example of this is Sulli, an ex-Kpop star who was a victim of suicide due to vicious rumours on social media that had been conspiring against her for years. Even if celebrities are often performers, their real lives shouldn't be treated as a performance, but the fact is that they almost always are.
