6:00 am and the news is still grim
I watch what I’ve heard over and over
again&again waiting on the edge of hope
where I live hoping for something I can stow
away into my feel good stash just for today inside
my hopeaholic head that refuses to listen to trash

Logic has temporarily lost its way in deaths haze
it’s part of this evil thing that keeps us trapped
running into ourselves running in a maze
obviously going no where again
inside I feel it coming

I’ve lived long enough to understand
we live in an alternate reality just out of hand
that in 2 weeks is making many destitute and weak
and the man on the white horse wearing a 10 gallon hat
possibly lost his way due to a stray Virus waiting at a gate
but all logic isn’t chaos and all chaos can be measured logic

Hope is like a great bird that lives for the storms
flying directly into them prepared to do them
harm who’s intent is clearly bent and calm
perching on a faithful limb ready to
extend and retrieve answers
from confusions misery
sinking talons into
miseries enough
to kill even
this evil
