Lullaby for Hazel Eyes..
Flavored like rich candied brine,
his warm rush of liquid ecstasy hit,
inhebriating my senses
far more than any hundred proof tonic
a bartender offered.
Upwards staring to his hazeled gaze,
I called him my whiskey lullaby
as he gently stroked red tendrils
and gave praise,
thanking his darlin' blue eyed babydoll.
As slumber and sweet dreams came
I rested head and heart
upon the stalwart pillars of his altar.
