Tallen... 4:30 am here! Yikes! I need to go to bed, lol.
I have trouble sleeping at times, as my mind can be quite restless :P
Thank you so much for your kind words, Tallen. This was written pretty quickly, all in one go, after being up all night and most of the day. The positive feedback makes me feel better about it. This was kind of a new style :)

Hiya socks :)
Me and sleep are always evading eachother...
I have this weird thing, where I feel like I can never get enough accomplished in one day... so I stay up as long as possible. It's like every day is my last! I also kind of like the the change in my thought processes when I'm sleep deprived. I think less clearly, but more abstractly and with less inhibitions... so my poetry just flows out, and I don't overthink it like I normally do :P
Anyway, I really appreciate those sweet words, socks. Thanks so much for the support, and I'm so glad that you liked it :)

You have sum up my problem with sleep😴 NewB. Every night I try to sleep at 3: 00 a.m but my mind just can't sleep then I would count the hour till morning comes and got my sleep because my eyes are tired but never a peaceful sleep. 🤔

Summer,
There's just something about the night time that is appealing to me. It's quiet, calm, and free of distractions. It's good to know there are other kindred spirits out there... even if I wanted to sleep, I couldn't :P
Anyway, thank you so much for the readership and the RL entry! It means a lot! <3

I could stay up all night reading or writing. I love the peace and quiet that night affords when I'm alone, but living with someone who is not a nocturnal person like myself can be an issue if I stay up all night. 😁 So I go to bed at past two or three am and count the hour till I fall asleep. 😴

Well, considering the topic this one is actually quite fun. The rhyming works and creates a rhythm like slow time passing in the dark of night.

MatryoshkaLex,
I'm glad that you like it! It makes me happy that this one was so well-received, especially considering the poem was an improvisation, unlike most of mine. It came out all in one go! No editing or fixing anything... just straight to the page. I'm glad that it turned out well, and I really appreciate you stopping by to take the time to read and comment :)

I blew you away? That's a great compliment coming from you! :)
I've always thought your visual poems were uniquely beautiful... a style no other poet here has captured. I have wanted to try my hand at something like this for awhile now, but haven't found the correct way to approach it. Finally, I think I figured it out! Luckily, I have my own style, so it's not a replica of something you'd do... but it was very much inspired by your visual entries on here - and I am eternally grateful for that! <3

Hey, my friend NewB!
Your alliterative serenity seems like a fitting way to lull yourself and others to sleep. Amazing how the sleep-problem poem becomes the insomniac's antidote. Initially, I thought your "Floydian trip" was a Freudian slip, but your assertive drip-drip-drip became a pendulum on which you swung your deliberate shrewdness right back into my face.
Your work has never been less than exemplary -- and yet, I see you flying miles above your accustomed mountains, what with your unfettered ease of expression and refreshingly graphic poignancy.
Congratulations!
Sincerely
cab

Cab, thank you so much for taking the time to stop by to read, RL, and comment. I am only a part-time poet, as I can cut it on and off, but it seems you are a full-time poet – as evidenced by your abstract, poetic way of thinking, even outside of poetic context. You always have the most interesting way of wording your compliments… sometimes it’s like reading a poem in itself. I always look forward to your generous, genuine, and creatively crafted comments 😊
I’m glad I could hit you with at least a slight element of surprise… I tend to be a stickler for structure, so it’s generally only when I improvise like this that I am able to expand my horizons beyond my own predictable nature. You really do flatter me, cab. It means a lot that you decided to comment here, as I admire you and your writing.
I appreciate all you do!

Thank you, Jen. I owe most of my thanks to nomoth for giving me creative ideas. He just has a unique style that inspired me, and really spoke to me. I also owe Uma and Ahavati big thanks too. It was seeing their aesthetic masterpieces that made me decide to try my hand at it again (Hope). Anyway, thank you so much for your kind words :)
I was pretty impressed with your latest poem as well. Some of your best writing to date IMO

I noticed that you are new here - welcome to DUP, and thanks for stopping by my page to read my poetry! I see you have not uploaded a poem yet, but I've followed you, so I'll be alerted once you do. I look forward to reading your poems as well!

Sleep is overrated, and we just write whatever comes out of our heads. Great poem. Always be yourself. Keep on writing.

Haha. I totally agree with you there. We spend a good portion of our lives sleeping. Perhaps that is why I am so aversive to it.
Anyway, thank you for stopping by again, Francisco!

That is too kind, slipalong. I LOVE Nessun Dorma... such an incredibly powerful and transcendent aria :)
With that said, your comment is very uplifting and flattering! Thanks so much slip!

This is great. Maybe I need sleep deprivation in order to write like that. I might have to try it.
