They Should call it cry for help rather then emo i think as its true people who self harm and try to commit suicide oviously have psychological issues and these issues shouldnt be swept under the carpet by a fashion statment or trend , great poem , the best poems are the ones that people want to discuss well done.

Emo is a genre of music and even more of a subculture if anything. It's a way of life; clothing, music,  movies, attitude and so on. It's a movement. It is in fact a real word, short for something or not.
 
Not all emos cut. It's a common misconception and stereotype. It's like saying all punks go out and spraypaint anarchy on benches, all goths listen to Marilyn Manson, all preppy kids have porsches. It's utter bullshit stereotyping.
 
Also emo is so 2007 why is it still being discussed?

I respect your perspective and I can see why you say that. In this case I'm mainly talking about the emo's that do cut themselves and of course the over doing it "wannabe's". I am also speaking about how the word emo tends to lead to the thoughts of someone being depressed all the time, which is utterly annoying and these people just seek attention or as I said, needs help. So as you can see, emo society painted the picture in my head of depressed, self-harming delusional younger generations. So called cliques are the things that lead some teens that do not fit in or that are not accepted into depression. But alas, I guess I stand corrected with the word "emo". It might not have existed but now probably does.
