Dear BK,

I kind of think this should be called “The shit I’ve Been Told” The things parents say before they “parent” can be staggering.
For sure, this is a rough one, and I’m sorry for it. I know we’re supposed to forgive and make amends but I’m petty...powerful piece of writing and purging. H🌷  

Thank you Honoria.  The title stems from there will be 3 parts presented over three days. By the end, the title will make more sense.

That's some crap they dreamed up at the Elks Club or something.

My father only hit me once,  I was playing The Doors at peak volume on the record player.  He came upstairs with a yard stick and cracked me across the back and the stick broke and I started to laugh.  He retreated more pissed off.  My mother came up and told me I had to apologize and I protested that he hit me !!  Later on I apologized. He was cool about it.  I learned to not blast music when he was home and he probably learned something about me too ....

Ditto...the universal lie... you'd think, having had it used on them...(and I'm
quite sure that they didn't believe it either) they would have found a better alternative?
