somewhere out of time

it's like a cage that grew out of roots
of the trees we planted together
it reminds me of the way we knew
in that one moment it became forever

it's like a prison underneath the sky
the days that i wander by myself
and i am reminded of it all the time
staring at the empty chair by the fireplace

it's like chains forged out of the images
that i keep sunken in my chest
as i wake up drowing in memories
even after decades have come to pass

it's like a wall built out of the universe
that i try to tear down everyday
our story is a one without half the words
all those that you can not say

it's like a boulder with the weight of the world
the uncertainty staining the death
that one question that never ceases to burn
when the wall falls, will you be there

it's like an ocean made out of my love
the why i can no longer breathe
the smiles and laughter underneath the sun
perhaps somewhere out of time, may it yet come to be
