down the stream

my love is like the trees
it sways in the wind
over the flow of time it leans
an unchanging guardian
a giant made out of memories
even when i lay to sleep
when the walls are bruised by my screams
it still stands there
looming over the river banks
reminding me of the days
that have never been

my love is like the trees
it towers above the river bend
drops its fruits down the stream
out of the reach of my hands
an unfinished verse
a ballad sang out of key
as the stars travel the sky
the moon trails the sun
its branches silently
withstand the time
and when i look out of the window
on a quite summer noon
i look at the willows
and i wonder
maybe somewhere down the stream
perhaps our rivers end
in the same sea
and we will meet again
not just in my dreams
