I SAW MY SADNESS

My sadness
it touched me
through blowing leaves
in a gaze.

My sadness
it took me
back though time
in the haze.

My sadness
I saw it
as I looked
to the sky.

The sadness
of a little girl
who’s Daddy
just died.

My sadness
consumed me
until I couldn’t move

My Sadness
releasing itself
through my mood.

So I smiled though
my sadness,
the reflection soon showed

My sadness
is lessened with
each letting go.

Author's Note
Eight days after writing "MY SADNESS" I had a flashback to myself looking up to the sky on the day my father died, twenty five years earlier and wrote this poem.
