northern lights
colours that confuse
shadows that infuse
a grim sense of reality
another place
visible through the disjointed cracks
of a shattered mind
torn shards of tranquillity
ignorance loaned me hope
but experience has raped me
defiling and crippling, straining
the ethereal angels’ wings
snapped viciously and without a thought
how will that heavenly avatar fly
confined now to a grim and dirty earth
the godly light stolen
by a strained, confused mind
that lurks in shadows
cast in-between the vibrant planes
of hope and despair
my malaise reveals itself
in tares of the fabric of the mundane
and haunts me with glimpses of my future
hellish visions of what its to be old or insane
shadows that infuse
a grim sense of reality
another place
visible through the disjointed cracks
of a shattered mind
torn shards of tranquillity
ignorance loaned me hope
but experience has raped me
defiling and crippling, straining
the ethereal angels’ wings
snapped viciously and without a thought
how will that heavenly avatar fly
confined now to a grim and dirty earth
the godly light stolen
by a strained, confused mind
that lurks in shadows
cast in-between the vibrant planes
of hope and despair
my malaise reveals itself
in tares of the fabric of the mundane
and haunts me with glimpses of my future
hellish visions of what its to be old or insane
