A barren family tree

Goodbyes are never easy,

Wishing they'd come back makes me seem greedy.

I want to be at peace with the losses,

Tears quickly stream down my face like leaking faucets.

At first every part of me goes numb,

The more I think about them the more heart broken I become.

I search for comfort in believing that they're happier and pain free,

I'm filled with a heavy saddness each time I envision our family tree.

It feels as though every time I look at it another Leaf has fallen,

Though they're gone they will never be forgotten.
